One month into 2018, and McLaughlin Grows is already seeding hope. As you read this, our farm team is planting seeds for our first crop of kale, spinach, cilantro, basil and other early favorites. In our production room, you can smell the earth incubate these little gems under the warm glow of the growing lights. In a few more days, we will have hundreds of beautiful seedlings--and very soon strong plants in the ground at our McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm.
These packs of seeds will eventualy grow in to over 6000 Lbs of food!
Despite the heavy snow, spring always comes early at Community enCompass bringing with it the promise of opportunity. The opportunity to bring our fresh organic produce to more of our core city Muskegon neighbors. The opportunity to engage children and families in our learning garden. And the opportunity to help more people transform their lives through our farm-based job training program for core city youth.
