Community enCompass, a community development organization in Muskegon, MI, is recruiting for an Americorps VISTA Leader to start December 01, 2016. The deadline to apply is October 14th, with interviews being Monday and Tuesday October 17th and 18th.

We are looking for a candidate who loved being an Americorps VISTA member who wants to really fine-tune their leadership skills and coordination of other VISTA members. The primary function of the Leader is to provide training and support to the 9 Americorps VISTA members throughout the city of Muskegon and to touch base with the member site supervisors. The VISTA Leader is there to coordinate trainings for members and to act as an intermediary between the Americorps VISTA state/federal offices, the site supervisors, and the serving members.

The stipend for being a VISTA Leader is $14,280 dollars annually, as well as the option for an education award if you have not already received 2, or a cash award of approximately $2,800. Other perks to serving in Muskegon, MI include living in a lakeside community right on the beautiful Lake Michigan. You will be surrounded by natural beauty and experience all 4 seasons. You will also receive a complimentary CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share of vegetables and a rental stipend if relocating into the core-city of downtown Muskegon. And just a half an hour drive away is Grand Rapids, a midwest city on the rise acting as the international cultural hub of West Michigan.
