Five (5) Summer Associates will be placed at one of these positions:
1) McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm/Growing Goods: SA's will serve with a team that includes school administrators, credentialed teachers, high school youth peer leaders, and community based organizations’ outreach specialists. SA will provide behavior management support for summer school youth serving at the farm, and work with youth in the kitchen to prepare farm fresh lunches.

2) CATCH Camp: SA's will serve as a lead Camp Counselor for a summer day camp that serves children K through 6th grade. Camp students learn core values, teamwork, participate in visual arts, sports week, nutrition, dance and gardening, as well as field trips every Thursday.

3) Youth Empowerment Project (YEP): SA's will work with YEPs (high school youth who are part of the YEP summer work experience) at their job sites where YEPs will learn trade math and reading skills, through their on-the-job training in construction, farming, and housing rehab. SA's will also assist their leadership development class every Friday called YEP: Tech, during which YEPs will learn technology skills to create videos.

Applicants must be between the ages 18-24.

Americorps VISTA Summer Associate Positions run from June 15th to August 14th. Interviews will be scheduled May 22.
