Community enCompass is dedicated to bringing locally grown, fresh produce to core-city Muskegon. There is a lack of grocery stores in the area, providing fresh affordable healthy food, and there is a lack of education regarding what healthy food is and where it comes from.
That’s why Community enCompass launched McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm, to provide the community with fresh food, locally grown, and to educate the community on how to grow their own food. This includes volunteer days, Community Support Agriculture Shares, partnerships with local schools, weekly veggie stands in season and a spot at the Muskegon Farmers Market.
Community enCompass also launched Muskegon Prescribes Food for Health with local partners, prescribing fresh healthy produce and cooking and nutritional classes to neighbors with chronic health issues like diabetes and heart disease.
Your continued support for Community enCompass means fresh, locally grown food for our neighbors.
As a result of your continued generous support, Community enCompass' farm and food education are an integral part of the revitalization of Muskegon. Please join us in our mission to transform neighborhoods from the inside out!
